For durability and reliability, it’s hard to beat Hope’s F20 flat pedals. Cass has multiple thousands of miles on the pair that he started riding way back in 2014. He eventually rebuilt them, and they’re still going strong. With that, we were pretty excited to hear that Hope just released a new lineup of clipless pedals that use the same axle architecture, three-cartridge bearings, and Norglide bushing as the F20. Hopefully, that means they have the same durability.

The new lineup fetures three models for XC, trail, and gravity riding with claimed weights of 324g, 437g, and 498g, respectively. The brand new (and proprietary) cleat and cleat retention system were designed for ease of entry and are fully adjustable. Each pair of pedals comes with two pairs of cleats, each providing varying degrees of free float (4° or 5°). Here are the details on each:

Hope Union Clip Pedal – TC

The TC (Trail Clip) is a medium-large platform pedal. The TC features a fully CNC-machined platform with eight replaceable pins and comes in six color options. The Union Clip TC weighs a claimed 437 grams and will retail for £150 (€185 or $190). Find the full specs from Hope below.

Hope Union Clip Pedal – RC

The RC (Race Clip) model has a minimal platform and an appearance that’s not too dissimilar to standard Shimano SPDs. Unlike the other two models, it has a titanium axle and zero pins. The Union Clip RC is available in six colors, weighs 324 grams, and will sell for £150 (€185 or $190). Specs from Hope below.
