Teased earlier this year, Kyoot’s headtube-mounted rack has officially launched. With a 25-pound load capacity, this small, flat rack adds tons of cargo capacity to any bike it fits. Dive into the details below…
Head tube-mounted racks are having a moment. With a number of bikes sporting mounts for headtube-mounted systems at MADE earlier this year, the new Kyoot Flat Pack Pizza Rack aims to bring the same cargo-carrying capacity to their own bikes. Using aluminum plates, M5 hardware, and a clamp system that secures around the headtube, the Flat Pack Pizza Rack adds 25 pounds of cargo-carrying capacity to the brand’s line of mini-velos.
The rack features M5 bolt holes for attaching a basket with zip ties, bolting on accessories, or using large washers to secure other types of storage. It also has pill-shaped slots that give users plenty of options for Voile and other gear straps. The tray can be installed in either orientation, depending on your setup.
When asked whether the rack can be used on non-Kyoot bikes, they said it hasn’t been tested yet. Kyoot’s Rolly Polly and Itty Bitty models use a headtube with integrated cups, resulting in a 39mm diameter. Bikes with the same headset orientation should work, and other bikes could use something like electrical tape or a shim to add the rack to their system. Still, it’s not officially recommended—the Flat Pack Pizza Rack was designed and intended for use with Kyoot bikes.
When you don’t need it, you can remove the rack with a 4mm Allen key, disassemble it, and pack it completely flat for travel or storage. The rack uses standard M5 hardware throughout, so reassembly should be a breeze.
The Flat Pack Pizza Rack is now available for pre-order for $120, with racks set to ship later this year. Learn more by visiting KyootBikes.com.
