Beloved professional road racer turned ultra-distance bikepacker Lachland Morton announced on Instagram yesterday that he’s auctioning off the jersey he wore for the entirety of his 5,500-kilometer Alt-Tour across France this summer (which we covered extensively here), racing the Peloton to Paris and riding all stages and transfers of the 2021 Tour de France route.
At the time of posting, the jersey is already up to $3,250 with almost five days still to go. Lachlan intends to donate all the proceeds from this auction to Louisville, Colorado-based Pedaling Minds, an organization that works in schools to teach students collaborative thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and coordination through a program designed to build self-confidence—using bikes as tools for learning.
