Lachlan Morton recently appeared on Amanpour and Co. for a great interview discussing the Alt Tour, his experience riding 12 hours a day in sandals, and overcoming mental lows on such an extraordinary challenge. Watch it here…

As you may have seen in our extensive coverage, Australian professional cyclist Lachlan Morton pitted himself against the 2021 Tour de France by riding the entire route with no mechanics, no hotels, and no crew at all. It was dubbed the “Alt Tour.” Ultimately, Lachlan rode 200 miles a day and beat the peloton to Paris by five days while raising money for World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit that finds bicycles for people in need.

A week or so ago, he was interviewed by Hari Srinivasan on one of my personal favorite news programs, Amanpour and Co. You can listen to the interview below. And if you missed our coverage, be sure to dig in on the Tracker for more.

“The difficulty of what I was trying to do, the place I was doing it, and experiencing it by myself all made it super special.”
