Inspired by their love for 1990s mountain bikes, Magic Components has made a 26″ ATB dubbed the Wizard. Built for fun, this fantasy-themed ATB has all the hallmarks of a modern do-it-all bike. Learn about the new Wizard below…
Taking heavy inspiration from the mountain bikes of yesteryear, the Wizard ATB is a new production model from Magic Components based around a 26″ wheel size. With a max tire clearance of 26 x 2.5″, the Wizard is built around older component standards like canti-style brakes and 132.5mm spaced quick-release axles. The bike uses a 68mm bottom bracket standard, 27.2mm seatpost, 1-1/8″ straight head tube, is fully externally routed through cable stops on the top and seat tubes, and can fit a 46T max triple crank. Made of chromoly steel in Taiwan, the Wizard has passed the ISO city/trekking standard, according to Magic.
The Wizard is available as either a frame-only option for $600 or with the chromoly steel fork for $800. Each frame comes standard with a two-bolt, geared style dropout, but a modular horizontal option can be purchased separately for $25 if users want to run their Wizard as a singlespeed. The bike has two bottle mounts on the inner triangle and one on the underside of the downtube. Cargo-wise, the fork looks a little undergunned with just one mid-blade mount on the outside of the fork blade, but there are rack and fender mounts on the bike’s rear. The Wizard is available directly from Magic and comes in two colors: Yellow Magic Potion and Hermit Purple. Currently, the Wizard is on pre-order and frames are estimated to ship in September of this year.
