Oregon-based framebuilder Mostly Forever, owned by Max Keegan, just launched a new website and a handlebar bag designed specifically for the Oregon Timber Trail. Learn more about the Mostly Forever Olney Bar Bag here…

We met Max of Mostly Forever (“MF” for short) bikes at the inaugural MADE bike show in Portland last year. Max started making bikes in 2020 after years of working in various metal fabrication shops. He recently launched his new website, where you can learn more about his bikes and other accessories. Just like the hardtail he brought to MADE, which was designed specifically for the Oregon Timber Trail, Max just released a new handlebar bag that’s been tweaked and tested to the point where he’s happy with it.

The Mostly Forever Olney Bar Bag is an expandable roll-top handlebar bag that has stretchy side pockets for quick access items, a G-hook buckle closure, a webbing daisy chain for handlebar straps, and two heights of daisy chain for the headtube attachment point. Max says it’s intentionally tall to allow for over-stuffing while still being able to roll it closed, and the pattern has also been tweaked to reduce material waste. Max explains, “I wanted to be more intentional with my material usage and minimize waste, so the bag now has rectangular front and rear panels with a half-round bottom. The side pockets were originally made from Ecopak but have since been switched to a stretch material for easier access to items.”

  • Capacity: 5L
  • Material: EcoPak Body, Ultra Stretch Pockets, Cordura back panel with plastic insert
  • Dimensions: 8″ x 12″ x 3.25″ (HxWxD, rolled)
  • Weight: 241 grams
  • Place of Manufacture: Oregon, USA
  • Price: $95 USD

Max is launching the Olney Bar Bag as a limited run with Cordura mounted to the front panel of the Ecopak for people who want something a bit louder. There are a variety of color/fabric options currently available on his website, and if there’s something specific you’re after, Max can make it for you. The bag isn’t waterproof, but due to the construction and fabrics used, it’s highly weather-resistant.
