For the first time, Myth Cycles in Durango, Colorado, will offer batch-made, semi-custom frames. This means no one-year lead times and no more deposits—without sacrificing the US-made, handbuilt quality they’re known for. Learn more about what this means for prospective buyers here…

Eric Tomczak of Myth Cycles has offered custom and semi-custom bikes for years, but they’ve used the same ordering process: put down a deposit and wait until it’s time for Eric to build your frame. For the last few years, that’s usually meant waiting over a year between your deposit and getting your frame. For 2024, Eric is changing things slightly to allow for a better work-life balance and to create shorter wait times.

Starting immediately, Myth will transition to a new business model for its semi-custom frames, where they will be made in small batches, painted, and shipped to customers. This will allow Myth to offer a quick four-week turnaround. This also means Myth won’t be offering complete builds for semi-custom frames, but they will have a limited number of components customers can add to their order, such as drivetrains, brakes, forks, wheels, headsets, etc. For Myth’s semi-custom offerings, geometry is set, but you’ll have your choice of finish/paint, frame customization options, and more.

The first batch of frames to be released is a set of medium and large Talos frames, and prices start at $2,199. Those are currently on the website and can be ordered at any time. Next will be a small batch of medium and large Zodiac full-suspension frames. Eric hopes to put those up for sale around the end of April. Throughout the year, he’ll continue to build more frames in more sizes and keep the website stocked so folks can buy their bike whenever they’re ready.
