Designed to be packable, durable, and suitable for the worst conditions, the all-new Albion Zoa Rain Shell features a 100% recycled Pertex Shield Pro Netplus main fabric and plenty of cycling-specific features. Check it out here…

Last winter, Emily and I tested some of the top-rated rain jackets on the market. If you’ve ever shopped for a rain jacket for bikepacking, then you know finding that perfect mix of durability, packability, and waterproofness sometimes feels like an impossible task. This is a spoiler, but we’re currently testing rain pants, and Albion’s are shaping up to be some of our favorite, which is why we’re excited to see a new Albion Zoa Rain Shell, a key item in a collection designed for on- and off-bike adventures.

According to Albion, the new Zoa Rain Shell has been tested by ultra racers and weekend bikepackers alike. It’s designed to keep you dry in the worst conditions you’ll encounter on a bike and is made from a Pertex Shield Pro Netplus face fabric combined with an ultra-thin hydrophilic membrane to protect the porous coating from oil contamination and maintain waterproof performance.

The Zoa Rain Shell has a PFAS-free DWR finish, a fully adjustable drawcord hood that can be worn over, a two-way front aquaguard waterproof zip, and two hand pockets with lightweight mesh pocket bags for additional venting. It uses a refined cuff closure system, designed for more effective on-bike use and venting if required, and there is reflective trim at forearms and rear for enhanced visibility.

Albion is really excited about the PFAS-free DWR finish that they worked with Pertex on. It’s claimed to “remain effective over numerous wash and wear cycles.” Albion’s Co-Founder, Jack Howker, explains, “A subtle, but big piece of work on this has been from Graeme on the hood. The team have been obsessed with hoods on the Zoa range and finding the perfect balance of protection from the elements, keeping the hood in place over long days, and peripheral vision when worn over the helmet.”
