Nemo just released two new versions of its Tensor line of sleeping pads. The NEMO Tensor All-Season and Tensor Trail have boosted R-values and are lighter than their predecessors. Find details on both here…
As evidenced in my recent Editor’s Dozen list, the Nemo Tensor sleeping pad has become a favorite over the last few years—and one of the only sleeping pads I trust. Following the fall 2023 launch of the Tensor Extreme Conditions with an 8.5 R-value, Nemo just announced two new models, restructuring the Tensor collection to be lighter, warmer, thicker, and stronger—and still unbelievably quiet, which is one thing I love about their pads. The two new Tensor pads are both equipped with Bluesign-approved recycled materials, about a half an inch increased thickness for more cushion, and improved Laylow valves.
NEMO Tensor All-Season
The NEMO Tensor All-Season will replace the Tensor Ultralight Insulated pad (the one I’ve tested). It now has a boosted R-value at 5.4, as opposed to the 4.2 R-value in the Ultralight Insulated model. They also claim that it’s about a half an ounce lighter at 14 ounces (397 grams) for the regular-length mummy pad.
Similar to the Ultralight Insulated, the All-Season has a 20D thick top fabric and a thicker and tougher 40D bottom help protect it against punctures and tears. Like all NEMO sleeping pads, it includes a Vortex pump sack, which makes it quick and easy to inflate. Nemo also mentioned that they tweaked the microadjustable Laylow valve. The NEMO Tensor All-Season comes four sizes starting at $199.95: Regular Mummy, Regular, Regular Wide, and Long Wide. Find details over at NemoEquipment.com.
NEMO Tensor Trail
The Tensor Trail appears to replace the Tensor Ultralight with a boosted 2.8 R-value and a lighter weight—NEMO claims the regular-length mummy weighs just 13 ounces (369 grams). Otherwise, it sees the same improvements as the All-Season. Find details in this video:
