Check out the New Nordest Cycles Kutxo

Carção village in Portugal is known as an area where dogs (or kutxos) became faithful friends to the Almocreve merchants who traveled to and from this remote village. Named as homage to these friendly travel companions, the Nordest Cycles Kutxo is a new 29er monster gravel or drop-bar adventure rig designed to handle everything from singletrack trails to dirt roads and “devour kilometers of rough tracks in the mountains.”

The Kutxo frame is made from double butted 4130 steel tubing and features flat brake mounts, internal dropper post routing, provisions for a rear rack and fender, three-pack mounts on the top and bottom of the down tube, and a pair of bottle bosses on the seat tube. The chromoly fork that comes with the “frame kit” has three-pack mounts on each leg as well as rack and fender bosses. Here are additional frame details:

Designed by Pedro Jerónimo, the Nordest Kutxo has a modern geometry that’s close to that of a mountain bike, featuring a slack 68° head tube angle and a relatively long reach made to use shorter stems. The frame has 430mm chainstays and is designed for a fork with a 483mm length and 51mm rake—between 100 and 120mm travel suspension forks.

The Nordest Cycles Kutxo frame comes in sizes S, ML, and L in a Sand or Purpura Matte finish. It’s sold on its own for 649€ (preorder) or as a kit that includes the steel fork and a Cane Creek 40 headset for 819€ (preorder).
