According to Schwalbe, they launched their first Marathon tire 15 years ago, and since then, it has developed somewhat of a cult following as a dependable all-road touring tire. Schwalbe announced a completely redesigned version called the Marathon Mondial this week at Eurobike, and they are claiming it’s the “ultimate touring tire for roads, tracks, and trails of all continents.”
The Schwalbe Marathon Mondial pays homage to its Marathon XR predecessor but features an updated construction and compound that takes advantage of Schwalbe’s latest Schwalbe Evo tire technology. The Marathon Mondial comes in three versions: Double Defence V-Guard for maximum durability, Raceguard for improved off-road grip, and V-Guard for everything else.
There is a huge selection of styles and sizes, including 26″, 27.5″, 700c, and 29″, from 35mm to 2.4″ wide. Prices start at €63.90 (~$70 USD), and you can learn more at Schwalbe.com.
