Following the announcement of the new Tumbleweed Stargazer a couple of weeks ago, Tumbleweed just announced that its latest version of the ever-popular Prospector is up for presale today. Learn what’s changed and more here…
On the heels of their new Stargazer, which we reviewed a couple of weeks ago, Tumbleweed Bicycle Co. just kicked off a pre-sale for the latest version of the Prospector. As many of you know, the Tumbleweed Prospector is a purpose-built dirt-touring frame that was originally launched back in 2016. Cass Gilbert rode a pre-production prototype all over South America, and I tested a newer version in Ethiopia in 2019. The newest Prospector hasn’t changed much, beyond its slightly steepened seat angle (73° instead of 72.5) to help with ride position when a suspension fork is mounted.
The latest Prospector can be ordered as a frameset for $1,550, a frameset/Rohloff combo for $2,900.00, or a complete for $4,600 (with a $2,500 deposit). The frame is available in Sage or Midnight paint with the same stunning Tumbleweed headbadge. Find a few photos of the Prospector in the wild below and then scroll down to find a few stories, routes, and videos featuring the Prospector.
