The new Old Man Mountain 5L Hemlock bags come in two iterations: one with their signature FLiP attachment and the other as a traditional dry bag. For more on these new bags, check out the specifics below…
There are two new versions of the Old Man Mountain 5L Hemlock bags, which differ in how they attach. With one featuring the company’s new FLiP cage system and the other a more traditional strap-oriented attachment, it’s nice to see Old Man Mountain offer their users the flexibility to use their bags however they see fit. These new 5L bags aren’t too different from the 7L version that launched earlier this year but offer a smaller, more racing-focused option for those looking to pack light and fast. Let’s dive into the details on each of these new additions to the Hemlock lineup.
5L Hemlock with FLiP Cages
Sold in pairs and featuring more subdued graphics than the 7L version of the same bag, the 5L Hemlock with FLiP attachment has a fully welded, waterproof construction made from TPU fabric, is PFAS/PFC free, uses a roll-top enclosure, and weighs 330 grams per bag, with the additional FLiP cage being 93 or 139 grams with the optional foot. Rolled open, the bags are 17″ high x 6.7″ wide x 10.25″ long. The pairs of the Hemlock with FLiP attachments are available through Old Man Mountain or their stockists and retail at $165.

5L Hemlock Dry Bag
The dry bag version of the 5L Hemlock bag is for those who prefer more traditional attachment methods. Secured through two straps at the bottom and top of the bag, this dry bag as the same 5L capacity as the FLiP variant, is also fully welded and waterproof, has Hypalon reinforcements for abrasion resistance, features a frame sheet on the front of the bag for even compression, shares the same dimensions as the FLiP cage version, and is PFAS/PFC free. The bag weighs 147 grams and is available as a single unit, retailing for $48.
