The new Ortlieb Quick Rack and Quick Rack Light use a quick-release cam mechanism to attach and detach from the bike in seconds for daily commuting or bicycle tours. Find details here…
Ortlieb just quietly introduced the Quick Rack and Quick Rack Light to their European audience. The racks feature an interesting cam mechanism that allows them to be attached to pegs that thread into standard rack bosses. Additionally, they have a seat tube/post strap that attaches to a single strut that allows it to move with suspension. Find a few photos and details below.
Ortlieb Quick Rack
The Ortlieb Quick Rack is made of aluminum tubing and was built for commuting and touring. It features a universal design that’s adjustable to different bikes via a variable strut length. It does require lower rack mounts, but uses a quick-release mechanism that attaches to included rack pegs. Each threads onto standard mounts on the dropout. According to Ortlieb, the Quick Rack features a stable platform and a flexible hinged design that can even be used on full-suspension bikes. The Ortlieb Quick Rack has a claimed weight of 580 grams with a maximum payload of 15 kilograms and retails for €69.99. Quick Rack and Quick Rack light will be available everywhere in Europe, but not in the USA at this time.
Ortlieb Quick Rack Light
The Quick Rack Light has all the same specs as the Quick Rack, but lacks a platform, making it specific for use with panniers. The Ortlieb Quick Rack Light weighs 440 grams and sells for €64.99. Like the Quick Rack, it’s not available in the US market at this time.

We’ll share additional details here as they become available. For now, you can get a little peek at the Quick Rack (and some of Ortlieb’s other new 2022 products) in action in the video below:
