R. G. Evans & Co. is a small framebuilder in Colchester, UK. After moving to a new workshop and getting a lot of interest in their latest creation, they wanted to share the love and make more. The R. G. Evans & Co. semi-custom Single Speed frame is made in house from of a mix of Columbus Life and Zone plus Reynolds 725 tubing. The frame features a BSA threaded bottom bracket, Bear Frame Supplies 135mm sliding rear dropouts, a 49mm chainline, room for a 38T front chainring, and clearance for 2.1″ Schwalbe Thunder Berts, as tested.

The fork is also made in-house from a blend of Columbus and Reynolds 631. Mixing standards, the fork has a 100 x 12mm thru-axle and features a standard 1 1/8″ steerer, and eyelets for a front rack.

R. G. Evans & Co. are offering the first five single speed framesets for £795 (plus shipping and tax)—about $155 off the normal price oof £950. Once these five are gone they’ll open up ordering for the single speed and other framesets to the public. They’re now taking deposits and builds will be ready in 6-8 weeks, depending on paint.
