Previously known as the WTF Bikexplorers, the Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) just launched a new website, updated their leadership team, and have big plans for 2021. Learn more here…

After committing to a name change by the end of 2020, the WTF Bikexplorers (WTFBX) reached out to the cycling community for input on their new identity. Here’s what their team had to say about the reasoning behind the change: “We acknowledge that both ‘WTF’ and ‘Bikexplorers’ are harmful, with ‘explorer’ using traumatic colonial language and ‘WTF’ centralizing cisgender women while being a recognizable acronym for ‘what the f*ck.” After narrowing it down to four options, they put the selection up to a public vote, and landed on Radical Adventure Riders, or RAR for short.

Of course, their mission to enhance gender inclusivity and racial equity in the bicycle and outdoor adventure industries remains the same and their programs such as the Cycling Industry Pledge, SJ Brooks Scholarship, Get Rad Be Radical publication, and RAR Gravel Program will live on. RAR has also restructured their leadership team, which now consists of Christina Grande (@grande1017), Mary Lytle (@maryroselytle), Molly Sugar (@molly.sugar), Renee Hutchens (@renay.h), and Zahra Alabanza (@zahra_ala).
