UK-based Ratio Technology just released a simple upgrade kit that converts SRAM 11-speed shifters and derailleurs to 13-speed to work with Campagnolo Ekar cassettes. Read all about the new Ratio 1x13C Upgrade Kit here…

When Campagnolo launched their Ekar 13-speed drivetrain back in 2020, Ratio Technology immediately saw the potential and started working on an upgrade kit. The new 1x13C Upgrade Kit allows tinkerers to use Campagnolo Ekar 13-speed cassettes and chains with their SRAM mechanical drivetrains. This provides riders the benefits of Ekar’s closely spaced 10-44 and 9-42T gear range without having to invest in Ekar shifters or derailleurs. To complete the conversion, Ratio also released the Ratio Ring, the first aftermarket Ekar-compatible chainring. Find all the details below.

Ratio 1x13C Upgrade Kit

The heart of the new Ratio 1x13C Upgrade Kit is the stainless 1x13C Ratchet, which was developed specifically for the sprocket spacing of Ekar cassettes. The new ratchet is compatible with any SRAM 11-speed mechanical road shifter (Force 1, Rival 1, or Apex 1) or SRAM 10-speed road shifters using Ratio’s replacement Cable Spool. The kit also comes with a pair of nylon 12-tooth, 13-speed-specific jockey wheels with stainless Enduro bearings and labyrinth seals; these can be fitted to any SRAM 1×11 Exact Actuation road derailleur (or an X Actuation MTB model with Ratio’s Cable Fin).

Ratio Ring

The new 7075 aluminum Ratio Ring is machined by Ratio in the UK’s Lake District. As mentioned, this is the first aftermarket Ekar-compatible chainring, but it was also designed with a broad range of compatibility. The teeth are narrow enough for Ekar 13-speed, but the tooth profile also allows it to handle SRAM Eagle and Flattop 12-speed chains. The Ratio Ring comes in 34t, 36t, and 38t sizes (with more the way) and uses a standard 5-bolt 110 BCD pattern.
