This week’s Reader’s Rig comes from Wynn in Vancouver, British Columbia, who shares a look at the no-nonsense Stridsland Beachcomber build he uses to take on a little bit of everything. Meet Wynn and find details on his Beachcomber here…

Hi, I’m Wynn. I Grew up on Canada’s West Coast. Despite leaving home for university and travelling and working away from BC, I find myself once again living back in Vancouver. I have lived a nomadic life, but my travels have always seemed restless. I have an urge to move and explore.

Cycling, for me, feels the most in tune with my wondering spirit, be it the speed, freedom, or intimate exposure. I’ve never been a mountain biker, road racer, or braved a gran fondo, but I feel the same addiction to being on two wheels even though my drive is exploration. I love experiencing the world from my Beachcomber, whether in the urban environment or wild nature.

The Beachcomber was designed and made by my good friend Matias. I’ve known him my whole life, and he has maintained an unwavering calm determination for excellence as long as I’ve known him. This bike is no different. It is built to be durable, diverse, and downright cool.

The Beachcomber borrows its ethos to the bygone ’90s MTB style. This build has allowed me to rip up the urban streets, carry my obscure freight, and keep up on gnarly trails and overnight bikepacking trips. When I ride this bike, it feels like my home.
