Adding to their line of suspension stems, the team at Redshift Sports just launched 55mm and 70mm ShockStop Stems, which they say received a ground-up redesign. Take a peek at the updated Redshift Sports ShockStop Stem lengths here…

Redshift Sports’ ShockStop Stems are designed to offer up to 20mm of effective suspension travel to help smooth out off-road tracks and trails, and they’ve become quite popular, steadily appearing in many bikepacking race rig roundups here on the site. Until today, they were only available in 80 to 120mm lengths, but Redshift Sports listened to customer feedback and just rolled out shorter 55 and 70mm lengths aimed at folks riding bikes with modern geometry (longer top tubes and slacker head tube angles) and shorter riders who need less reach to be comfortable.

Introducing the new offerings, Redshift Sports co-founder Scott Poff wrote, “With modern geometry becoming standard on gravel bikes, we wanted to continue to provide the most complete suspension stem lineup in the industry. The ShockStop is the only suspension stem available in lengths shorter than 70mm.”

Although I’ve yet to test one myself and can’t offer any first-hand feedback, Redshift Sports touts the ShockStop Stem’s key benefits as reducing hand fatigue by absorbing vibrations, allowing you to ride longer because you’re not wasting energy by soaking up bumps with your body, and providing a customized suspension feel that helps you maintain control by dialing in the ShockStop to suit your riding style and preferences using one of the five included elastomers. The 55mm stem weighs in at 196 grams.
