Following the release of their axle-mounted rear rack system, the Switch Rack, Restrap from Leeds, UK, has announced a new bag made specifically for its modular attachment system. The Restrap Switch Top bag is said to be an aerodynamic, completely waterproof bag that works seamlessly with the Switch Rack. Read on for more on this new bag below…
One of the main complaints voiced in the comments on our review of the Restrap Switch Rack was the lack of a dedicated rack-top bag. As teased in that review, the Restrap Switch Top bag is here to address those issues. Featuring a tool-less attachment system that integrates with their Hiplok attachment clips, the bag offers a waterproof system with roll-top-access that sits atop the rack’s upper platform. The roll-top closure is secured with two plastic buckles that can be fastened to the desired pack size. Complete with two stretch side pockets rated at 1L each, the main compartment boasts 13L of storage. Miles and Neil even got an early look at it during their time at the 2026 edition of the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey.
The bag and its attachment system has a claimed weight of 869 grams. Adding that up with the 388-gram rack, the entire system should weigh around 1.25 kilograms. The bag comes with the hardware required to secure it to the rack and offers 20mm of adjustment to better accommodate users with limited saddle clearance. In addition to the sliding Hiplok attachments—as seen on other Restrap products like the Switch Panniers—the Switch Top Bag uses webbing loops and ladder locks to keep the bag secure. The bag is now available through Restrap and retails for $263. Like all their other products, Restrap has created a neat “How To” video on the new Switch Rack. Check it out below:
