Ritchey’s new Outback TandM Break-Away is ready for tandem mixed-surface rides all over the world and fits into two included travel cases for travel. Find details and photos on the new Outback TandM Break-Away frameset here…
Launched earlier this week, the Outback TandM Break-Away is the latest addition to Ritchey’s versatile Outback lineup. It’s based around the same ultra-smooth Ritchey Logic steel frame that I was particularly fond of during my recent Ritchey Outback review—but increases the potential for fun by adding another saddle… and it also breaks down to fit into two travel cases. The Outback TandM Break-Away has rack and fender mounts and can carry five bottles. Specs like quick-release skewers, a 68mm threaded bottom bracket, and a 1-1/8″ headtube make the Outback TandM perfect for overseas adventures, and Ritchey includes two wheeled / padded travel cases that are designed to fit within most guidelines for airline baggage and reduce baggage fees.
From Ritchey: “The Outback TandM Break-Away is a road-oriented tandem frame that cruises endless tarmac routes yet has the advantage of being able to fit 40c tires, making it adaptable enough to effortlessly handle gravel roads that disappear into the horizon. With fender mounts, the ability to fit five water bottles and a confident steel fork with multi-purpose mounts, the Outback TandM Break-Away has all of the features to keep you and your riding partner outfitted with everything you’ll need for your time out riding.”
The Ritchey Outback TandM Break-Away comes in one size and colour, and weighs 5.02kg with the frame assembled. The frameset retails for $2,999 USD, and is available now. See the geometry chart below.
