While we can all appreciate the extra hand positions that drop bars offer, especially on long tours, there are a limited number of options out there to add more cushioning to the bars. Silicone inserts and extra-thick bar tape work, but what if you only want to change the lower drop portion of the bar? That’s where the new Ritchey WCS Gravel Grip comes in. It’s designed a neoprene sleeve that slides on the end of your drops, providing added cushioning and support.
The WCS Gravel Grip is made from 200mm long, 4mm thick neoprene that installs by simply sliding it over your existing bar tape. It’s designed to be flexible and pliable enough to fit over any handlebar shape and long enough to reach right up to the bottom of your hoods (or trimmed down shorter if you’d like). They weigh just 50g, come in black only, and are available now from RitcheyLogic.com or your local bike shop for $14.95 USD.
