Rockgeist just announced a few new products, including custom rear bags for the Salsa Blackborow cargo fat bike and a polished black version of their Spacelink. Check them both out here…

While much of the cycling industry feels as if it’s currently on hold, most of our favourite local makers are still busy designing and creating new bikepacking bags, which we think is worth celebrating. Our friends at Rockgeist just announced two new products: a polished version of their Spacelink and some rear bags designed specifically for the Salsa Blackborow. Find more on both below.

Spacelink in Polished Black

The Spacelink is Rockgeist’s solution to an integrated cockpit bag setup, eliminating the need for velcro straps and providing a place to anchor feed bags and top tube bags, which is especially useful for those running short stems. The Spacelink acts as a spacer and provides a sturdy channel for attaching your bags to. A few of us have been using them since their launch back in 2018 and we’ve all been impressed by their design and functionality. Rockgeist’s most recent batch is individually polished for a smooth gloss black finish, matching the finish on many high-end stems. They’ll still be offering the matte black version at a lower price point ($29.95 versus $36.95), but won’t have those available until late summer or early fall. Check out Logan’s first look at the Spacelink here, and then head over to Rockgeist.com to learn more.

Salsa Blackborow Stowaway Bags

The Blackborow is Salsa’s cargo fat bike with nearly limitless possibilities. All of the nooks and crannies are just begging for custom bags, and that’s the route most Blackborow owners have gone in the past—until now! Rockgeist is making rear bags for the Blackborow that fit inside the space between the rear tire and seat tube. The top bag, which costs $115, has a cinch cord for easy access to the full area inside the bag with a removable Hypalon lid to keep the weather out. The lower bag has a map pocket on the drive side and a duffle bag style double zip for full access on the non-drive side. The lower bag, which costs $155, is bolted to the rear of the seat tube for stability. All frame sizes have the same stowaway bag dimensions, so there’s no need to take any custom measurements to get your bags. As always, they are handmade in Asheville, North Carolina, with a 3-4 week lead time. See more at Rockgeist.com.
