Salsa has announced a new race-oriented gravel bike, the Flyway. With clearance for 50mm tires, suspension-corrected geometry, and a new carbon layup, the Salsa Flyway appears to be a versatile option for those seeking speed. Find details on their new bike below…

Named for the phenomenon of birds establishing a migratory air route, the Salsa Flyway is the brand’s latest gravel race bike. Built to fit 700 x 50mm tires in its stock, rigid format, the Flyway is also suspension-corrected for 40mm travel forks. The frame features a variety of mounting points, with the three largest of its six sizes capable of running three bottles inside its main triangle. The Flyway also has mounts on the underside of the downtube and above the top tube, as well as three-pack mounts on the fork blades.

Salsa says the Flyway is made of Class 5 VRS carbon, which is supposedly 20 percent more compliant than what’s used on their Warbird model. As for standards, the Flyway has 12 x 142mm rear spacing, a T47 bottom bracket, a 47.5mm chainline, is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrains, and sports an IS52 headtube for internal routing.

The Flyway offers five build kits, ranging from an eye-watering $12,000 SRAM RED model to a Shimano GRX-equipped $3,500 model. In addition to a suspension-corrected model priced at $5,500, there is a frame-only option at $2,800.

Other Salsa 2026 Updates

The announcement of the Flyway also includes a variety of small updates for other Salsa models. Though little is materially changing, the Cutthroat, Fargo, and Journeyer all have new colorways and updated build kits for 2026. The 2026 Cutthroat also features a suspension-corrected version that retails for $7,300. The Fargo has just one SRAM-equipped build at $3,400, while the Journeyer has a variety of Shimano builds ranging from $1,300 to $2,300.
