The new San Util Design UL Nano Panniers are tiny bolt-on bags for racks or forks with three-pack mounts. Pre-orders are open for a limited time. Find all the details here…
Justin McKinley approached San Util Design with a nifty idea for a super tiny bolt-on pannier in preparation for his Tour Divide run this year. Justin put together a video all about them, which we shared in our Friday Debrief last week, and there was enough interest that San Util has decided to do a small pre-order.
The aptly named UL Nano Panniers are pint-sized (more like six pints) mini panniers with a bolt-on attachment designed for racks or forks with three-pack mounts. The concept was inspired by the Mica Rat Tail rack, as its minimal design isn’t ideal for larger panniers, but the three-pack mounts on the legs make it perfect for this application.
The panniers have a roll-top closure with side-release buckles. There’s an UltraStretch pocket on the outside, and an internal 3mm aluminum plate on the back to provide a solid mounting platform. They weigh about 140 grams each and hold roughly 1.5-3L of gear, which is likely only suitable for some extra layers, maybe part of a lightweight sleep kit, or overflow storage for food. They are available in two colors: White ULTRA400x and Black ULTRA400x.
The UL Nano Panniers cost $95 each, so if you want a pair, be sure to order two! Pre-orders are open until June 7th over at SanUtilDesign.com.
