Sea To Summit Announces Alto and Telos Tents

We were excited when we first heard Sea To Summit would be entering the tent game, especially since we’ve had positive experiences with their other gear. Now that they’ve been revealed, it looks like they’ll be an attractive option for bikepackers. The lineup consists of two models, Alto and Telos. Alto is their lightweight, semi-freestanding option that’s offered in both one- and two-person sizes. Telos is fully freestanding, comes in two and three-person sizing, and has some additional features that the lighter tents don’t offer. Within each individual model is a standard and PLUS version, the latter offers a 3+ season design with a fabric double-wall construction instead of a mesh interior. Tension Ridge

To increase the amount of useable inside space and improve ventilation, Sea To Summit worked with DAC on a unique pole architecture they’re calling Tension Ridge. While most poles angle downward, their Tension Ridge angles upward to increase the amount of room inside the tent, reduce the amount of inward taper of the walls, allow for taller doors, and make room for their Apex Vent at the highest (and most effective) point of the tent.

Hangout Mode

The freestanding design on all Telus allows for a fly-only pitch that can be converted into a temporary shelter for multiple people. Sea To Summit claims you can fit four camp chairs under the shelter, which works great for sudden rain showers at camp or protection against the sun. In Hangout Mode, the fly clips onto the poles and is tilted off the ground using trekking poles or the optional Hangout Mode Pole Set.
