The 32″ Singular Pterodactyl is the latest bike from the UK-based brand design solely for riders taller than 5’10”. With a carbon fork, titanium frame, and clearance for 32 x 2.5″ tires, this massive rolling chassis is another addition to the rapidly growing 32″ category. For more details on this new 32er, dive into the details below…

The Singular Pterodactyl is a titanium 32″ drop-bar bike that the brand says is built for long days and rough terrain. Getting its name from one of the largest animals to ever take to the skies, the Pterodactyl is only available in L, XL, and XXL sizes. As such, it’s solely for riders around 5’10” and above, where the geometry and wheel size can fit without compromising stack height, handling, or toe overlap. The Pterodactyl employs some mountain bike standards, like 157mm Superboost rear spacing, but is designed for more gravel-focused riding with a 71-degree head tube angle.

The geometry table is still forthcoming, but Singular says that the bike has a short wheelbase and isn’t really intended for technical riding. Keeping the speed high and covering long distances is where they think this wheel size shines, so the Pterodactyl focuses on pure speed. As far as specs go, the bike is designed for a 1x only with a maximum 38-tooth chainring size on a 55mm chainline. It has an 86.5mm T47 inboard bearing bottom bracket, 31.6mm seat post, and external derailleur and brake cable routing, and internal dropper routing on the seat tube. The frame has a claimed weight of 2.2-2.5 kilograms, depending on size, and uses a Columbus Futura Adventure carbon fork with a 470mm axle-to-crown measurement. The fork weighs 550 grams and also has an adjustable offset.

The Singular Pterodactyl frame comes in brushed titanium with the signature blasted Singular logo on the downtube. The paint pictured here isn’t standard, but it is available as a $680 (£500) upgrade. The Pterodactyl is currently available for pre-order as a rolling chassis that includes the frame, fork, headset, wheels, and tires. There are two specs based on location: one for US-based customers and the other for those in the UK, the main difference being the wheels. UK customers get Hope Pro 5 center lock laced to Willow AL rims, while US customers get Astral Jesters with Approach hubs. Pre-orders are currently live and sit at $4,039.
