Drawing on data from its earlier steel and titanium hardtails, Spot Bikes has released a new Rocker Carbon hardtail. Designed to feel like a metal bike without the weight penalty, the Rocker packs a series of features that make it an intriguing option in 2026…

The Spot Rocker Carbon Gen 3 is a new hardtail that’s said to feel like a metal bike without the weight penalty. Using data from past steel and titanium bikes, Spot set out to recreate the ride feel they liked in those models in a lighter, more responsive package. Through a series of alterations to the carbon layup—like reducing the downtube diameter and slimming the top tube and lowering it—Spot claims the front triangle delivers a livelier ride. In the back, Spot used a scalloped chainstay shape to keep things firm and consistent. It’s all part of the wholesale changes made to improve their bikes’ compliance.

The new layup also reinforces the intent of their new dropout system, which can support both belt and traditional chain-driven systems. Their Spotter system is a small guide positioned below the belt at the rear sprocket. The brand says that during normal riding, it sits just clear of the belt. If the belt begins to climb away from the sprocket under a particularly hard load, the Spotter physically limits how far it can go to keep it engaged.

The idea is that, rather than relying on the stiffness of an entire carbon rear triangle for another layer of belt security, they engineered something to handle flex and movement where it matters. This supposedly helps them keep the frame compliant without accounting for the limitations other designs impose. The frame also has ISCG tabs near the bottom bracket so users can protect their belt- or chain-driven system with a bash guard.

Through their dropout system, the geared drive-side dropout uses a UDH interface to mount a conventional derailleur, or accepts a SRAM Full Mount drivetrain directly. In either setup, users get the 15mm of rear-center adjustment, from 426 to 441mm. The dropouts use large lateral clamping screws that the brand says provide a more robust connection. Both dropouts have a fully locking tensioning system to hold the axle securely once riders find the right setting. Wheel changes don’t affect chainstay adjustment, brake alignment, or belt tension.

Spot also used the refresh as an opportunity to change the geometry. In the overlay above, the new Rocker is in yellow, and the previous Rocker is in red. With a 120mm fork, the head angle moves to 66.4 degrees and the bottom bracket drop increases to 62mm, while reach extends by 5mm across all four sizes. The minimum chainstay length is also 12mm shorter than the previous Rocker. Elsewhere, the bike fits an 180mm rotor, uses a 73mm bottom bracket shell, and routes its cables internally. The bike comes with insulating sleeves through the downtube to keep everything quiet inside the frame.

The new Spot Rocker is available in three build kits, ranging from $4,100 to $7,300, depending on your component choices. Both the geared and belt-drive options offer three upgradable build kits, and all complete builds feature a mix of components from Rock Shox, SRAM, Gates, Cane Creek, and DT Swiss. The Rocker is also available as a frameset for $3,000, in either Talus Grey or Aspen Glow yellow. The bike is currently on pre-order and is set to start shipping in November of this year.
