SRAM just unveiled the new 1×12 Eagle XX1, X01, and GX groups with new graphics and 10-52-tooth cassettes to expand their gear range to 520%. There’s also a new carbon GX crankset. Find the details here…

As silly as it may seem to some, two cassette cog teeth make a sizable difference in gear range—and provide a lower bailout/climbing gear, a factor that’s especially important when pedaling a loaded bikepacking rig. Last year, Shimano one-upped SRAM’s former 500%/10-50t Eagle with 510%/10-51t 12-speed XTR/XT/SLX drivetrains, so we figured it was only a matter of time until SRAM fired back with something bigger. Today, SRAM announced new 1×12 Eagle XX1, X01, and GX groups, each with 10-52t cassettes, revised derailleurs, graphics and finishes, and a few other tweaks, including an all-new carbon GX crankset. Here are details on the GX lines, with X01 pics and pricing.

New 10-52T GX EAGLE

To summarize, the new Eagle GX group gets a 520% 10-52t cassette, a refined rear derailleur with a new cage architecture, a carbon crankset option, and the new Eagle Colorsystem—with master colorway across the group. Here are the details…

XG-1275 EAGLE CASSETTE (CS-XG-1275-B1)

The new 520% GX Eagle cassette features a one-piece, pinned, full-steel design connected with high-strength stainless steel pins. The cog progression is 10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-42-52, which essentially just replaces the 50t cog with a 52t cog. This will make for a little bigger jump, but we’ll be curious to see how it feels. The design is similar to SRAM’s X-DOME cassette to aid in mud clearance for shifting performance and longer component life.
