The new State Bicycle Co. 4130 All-Road looks to be the most versatile bike the company has ever built. With clearance for 700 x 45mm or 650B x 1.9″, plenty of mounts, and a sub $1,000 price tag, the 4130 All-Road could be a real entry-level contender. Find details, photos, and build specs here…

State Bicycle Co.’s 4130 All-Road is the first offering in the brand’s newly announced Offroad Division. Marking a departure from their well-known line of single speed city bikes, the new 4130 All-Road is packed with features that State Bicycle Co. believes makes it “one of the most capable and affordable bikes on the market for gravel, commuting, touring, and beyond.” At first glance, it looks like they may be right. The 4130 All-Road is based around a 4130 Chromoly Steel frame, has options for both 700c and 650b wheels, a 1×11 drivetrain, and geometry centred around all-day riding. The frame is kitted out with two standard bottle mounts, four-pack mounts on the fork, front and rear rack mounts, as well as full fender compatibility.

State Bicycle Co. decided to offer the choice between 700c wheels with 38mm tires or 650b with 1.9” tires for the same price, or you can buy two complete wheelsets for an extra $349.99 to easily swap between the two. This price includes complete wheels, rotors, cassettes, tires, and tubes, which is great to see. The complete builds are specced with State’s flared All-Road bars, crankset, cassette, derailleur, and shifter, plus a standard BSA 68mm threaded bottom bracket and 27.2mm seatpost. The frame also uses 12 x 100/142mm thru-axles, which is a pleasant surprise considering it’s sub-$1,000 price tag.
