Even if things largely stay the same over at Surly Bikes, we can always count on them to release eye-catching colors, often with questionable names. Their latest flavors are Taro Milk Tea for the Ice Cream Truck and Key Lime Sneeze for the Wednesday. See them both here…

In addition to making rugged, utilitarian bikes that don’t break the bank and are likely to stand the test of time, Surly is known for their creative color names. Their colors typically age well, even if the names sometimes don’t. We asked readers to pick their all-time favorites last year, and a handful of favorites were Drink More Water Yellow, New Pig Smell, Blue Porta Potty, Unicorn Stew, and Nosedrip Curry.

Surly just announced a couple of fresh hues for their popular Ice Cream Truck and Wednesday fat bikes. The latest flavors are a lovely purple Taro Milk Tea on the Ice Cream Truck and a subtle Key Lime Sneeze on the Wednesday. The existing Warm Cheese and OG Algae colors will stick around for another year, too, and both new colors are available on completes and frames.

Taro Milk Tea Ice Cream Truck

As Surly puts it, “From log and root covered ribbons of twisty singletrack to miles of powdery snow or sandy beaches, Ice Cream Truck can handle it all. Hell, you could probably even hop over a grizzly if the situation arises. Probably.” With a long toptube, short seatstays, and a 68-degree headtube for manuverability, the Ice Cream Truck is a fat-tire trail bike “that doesn’t give two shits about what’s in front of it.” It sports modern standards like stealth dropper routing, a 44mm head tube, and thru-axles. It’ll clear 26 x 5″ tires on 100mm rims. Find more details here.

Key Lime Sneeze Wednesday

The Wednesday sits right in the middle of Surly’s Trail category, borrowing elements from bikes in their Trail and Touring lines to create a versatile fat-tire trail bike that can handle nearly anything. It’s equally at home on trails or loaded up for bikepacking on rugged roads. The Wednesday clears a 26 x 4.6″ tire, has stealth dropper routing, a 44mm headtube, suspension correction, thru-axles, and tons of mounts for racks, bottles, and fenders. Learn more here.
