Back in September of 2015, Bike Mag (RIP) ran a story titled “The Outer Limits,” Written by Graham Averill with photography by Derek Diluzio (and stunts by Evan Voss). The point of the trip was to string together some of the lesser-known downhills in western North Carolina’s Black Mountains—including Heartbreak and Big Ivy, for those familiar—over a multi-day bikepacking trip.
