The RollPack is a clever 3D-printed, removable caster system that bolts onto any cardboard bike box, allowing it to roll easily through airports, train stations, and beyond. Learn more about the RollPack and its Kickstarter campaign here…
Although the RollPack isn’t the first kit designed to convert any standard bike box into a rolling box, it’s one of the first we’ve seen that uses 3D printing and a modular caster system. The RollPack features a patent-pending system based around fixed wheel mounts that bolt directly to the cardboard box and snap-in wheels that can be removed with a slight tug. It’s designed to make transporting your loaded bike box through airports and other settings easier, which can sometimes be a real drag (pun intended).
The RollPack has multiple wheel configurations. Three-Wheel Mode has two fixed rear wheels and one swivel wheel up front. Ideal for race weekends, short trips, or lighter bikepacking loads. This wheel assembly weighs approximately 2.4 pounds (1 kilogram) and is recommended for loads under 70 pounds (31.7 kilograms). Four‑Wheel Mode features a swivel wheel at each end, with two fixed wheels centered between them. This creates stability, a tight turning radius, and the ability to steer from either side of the box—perfect for heavier gear or long airport transfers. This wheel assembly weighs about 2.4 pounds (1 kilogram) and is recommended for loads exceeding 70 pounds (31.7 kilograms).
The fixed mounting plates consist of an inner and outer bracket, and the outer bracket also pairs with a wooden support, like a standard 2×4, for folks who like to reinforce and customize their setup. While it isn’t available yet, plans are to offer an optional handle reinforcement accessory. Watch the launch video below to see the RollPack in action.
The RollPack is available to support via Kickstarter, with early-access pricing for a complete system starting at €77 (~$90 USD), a two-pack for €146, and a kit with exclusive accessories for €216. Delivery is expected to be in July.
