The updated Ritchey Outback brings some much-desired changes to the brand’s well-loved gravel offering. With new chainstays, dropper routing, and a reworked carbon fork, the new Ritchey Outback boasts far more than just a fresh coat of paint. See it here…

Teased at this year’s Philly Bike Expo, the Ritchey Outback has received some updates that make an already capable bike even more so. Though the new changes aren’t pronounced, Ritchey isn’t the kind of company to thoughtlessly add elements without thinking about the holistic design of their bikes. With a re-worked chainstay design, new carbon fork, and routing for a dropper post, the updated Ritchey Outback is a notable improvement on the prior iteration. Having recently run some experiments with smaller dropper lengths on my gravel bike, I’m glad to see Ritchey add this minor but important change to what seems to be one of the best gravel bikes on the market.

The updated Ritchey Outback also brings forth some new colors: a green winter sage and a black with tie dye logos. Though the winter sage might appear similar to the prior “guac and crema” color from the last batch, it’s far more muted than the bright green of the prior colorway. All in all, it’s a great addition to the lineup of Ritchey bikes, and one I’d like to take a closer look at myself. The Ritchey Outback retails for $1,599 USD and includes a frame and fork.
