Vargo, makers of the titanium BOT bottle/pot, among other titanium camping gear, just released its first tent. The Vargo No-Fly 2p tent is a freestanding shelter that’s fairly lightweight for its size…

Vargo claims its first tent is roomy, quick to set up, and doesn’t sacrifice durability, protection, or livability in order to save weight. Those are big claims. We hope to test one to see if it lives up them. In the meantime, here are the manufacturer’s details alongside a video they produced for the launch.

In order to shave the amount of material used on the No-Fly 2p’s construction, and in turn keep the weight to a minimum, Vargo used an integrated fly design and carbon fiber poles. This “Quadrapoint” system, which is patent-pending, makes it a freestanding tent that is fast and easy to set up, according to the Lewisburg, PA-based company. Its freestanding dome design has 43-inch peak height and offers 34 square feet of living space. Compared to another tent in this segment, the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2, the No-Fly 2p offers about five additional square feet of floor area at about 5oz (142g) less weight (packed weight). Here are the full specs:
