Velo Orange just announced that they’re the first official importer of Growtac Equal Mechanical Disc Brakes in the United States. Learn more about these beautifully functional brakes here…
Growtac is a small engineering and manufacturing company based out of Tokyo, Japan. They specialize in products for indoor training, but their disc brakes are one of their latest offerings with broader appeal, and we’ve caught glimpses of them making their way around the internet. As it happens, Logan currently has some in for review, and he’ll be sharing his thoughts on them in the near future. Velo Orange just announced that they are now the official USA importer for Growtac brakes, which should make them a lot easier to purchase for anyone in North America.
After some testing, Igor at Velo Orange claims the brakes offer some of the best modulation, stiffness, and lever feel he’s experienced, so we’re eager to try them out. Velo Orange is stocking both their flat and post-mount style calipers in a fun range of colours that happen to match up nicely with the Forager Cable Cherries (which they also stock). Each brake set includes 2x road cables, 2x MTB cables, 2x calipers, 1x brake adapter, 2x compressionless housing, 2x non-compressionless housing, endcaps, and mounting hardware. The flat-mount brake sets cost $350 USD and the post-mount versions cost $390.
