Today’s Weekend Snapshot finds readers pedaling around the French Alps and two lush corners of the Pacific Northwest. Catch a glimpse of all three rides and use the short form to share a photo from one of your recent getaways here…

Good morning, and happy Monday. As always, we’re back with a fresh dose of reader-submitted images from bikepacking trips and day rides all over the planet. In this edition, we join in for a weekender in Washington, a mixed-terrain ride in the French Alps, and a cruise through a Canadian forest with some new friends. See today’s Weekend Snapshot below, then continue scrolling to find a form you can use to submit a photo of your own. We’d love to share something from one of your recent rides!

My favorite weekend getaway is to load up my bike and hop on the ferry. There’s nothing better than island hopping on your bike while finding cozy forest sleep spots, swimming holes, and the best berry bushes.

Thanks to Marco Florian’s expertise about trails in the Alps, we went for a 100-kilometre loop with 2,000 metres of climbing in the French Alps near Briançon. The route mixed a bit of tarmac to reach the classic Galibier pass, lots of gravel both uphill and downhill, and about an hour of hike-a-bike to reach the pass linking Val Clarée to Valloire. Being up in the mountains is always enjoyable, no need to rush.

There’s nothing better than connecting with the bikepacking community and our guest contributors. Last week was a double-header. I had the opportunity to get out on a long ride with Ty Domin and Chelsea Rieger, who are in the process of relocating to Canada. The next day, my friend and OG bikepacker Vik came over from Vancouver Island for an all-terrain singlespeed ramble. Showing off the local trails and sneaky connecting paths is such a privilege, and sharing them with such good company is as good as gets.
