We’re highlighting three more rides and campouts from our growing community for today’s edition of Weekend Snapshot. This time around, we visit three countries and share scenes from trips in Canada, Poland, and the United States. Outside of Powell River, British Columbia, is a massive granite playground known as Walt Ridge. A couple of hours of hike-a-bike is all it takes to access this stunning area, and most of us who visited it over the weekend were first-timers. We’re already planning an overnight bike trip back there sometime next year. We had a few flats, a couple of tumbles, and Justin performed a brake bleed by submerging a brake lever in an alpine puddle.

Last weekend, I took a couple of days to scout a section of the XCT-East, a long-distance route I’m developing. I found myself racing sunset while rolling through the northern end of Pachaug State Forest. The light was great, and the fall colors were popping.

The 300ish kilometers separating Berlin, Germany, and Poznań, Poland, may look flat and easy on the map, but Brandenburg’s notorious sand pits don’t stop at the border. Never one to shy away from the rough stuff, Joachim forged through in style on his basket rando-commuter with 36mm tires, smiling all the way. His ride last weekend is the most ambitious performance seen so far on this upcoming route linking the two cities.
