We’re holding on to the last remnants of fall for today’s Weekend Snapshot, and readers in Italy, Colorado, and Finland bring us along for some of their last few bikepacking trips before the seasons fully change. Peek at what they were up to over their recent weekends and find a link to share photos from your rides here…

In this installment of Weekend Snapshot, riders from our global community of bikepackers transport us to their local trails as temperatures begin to drop and we round out the last few weeks of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. Find scenes from the Colorado Rockies, Italian Dolomites, and Finnish backcountry below, and be sure to use the form at the bottom of this post to share photos from your recent pedal-powered trips!

Val Venegia, Italy

Weekend Snapshot

By Andrea Gasperazzo (@agasper)

An autumnal snapshot from our recent crossing of Val Venegia in the beautiful Italian Dolomites. This one was a ride to remember, with beautiful fall colors and lovely mountain tracks.

Etela-Savo, Finland

Weekend Snapshot

By Andrei Turro (@a4d3e)

A sub-zero two-nighter to Mäntyharju, where we rode trails, slept in lean-to shelters (laavu), and enjoyed the full-body health of a wilderness sauna just two hours from home by train.

Rollinsville, Colorado

Weekend Snapshot

By Michael McManus (@michaelmcclovin)

We crossed the Continental Divide via Rollins Pass and hiked our bikes over the permanently closed Needle Eye Tunnel. The grueling and rocky climb up the eastern side of the divide would have been far better suited to wide-tired mountain bikes, but the gravel cycles we chose made for an adventure. The late September air made for a pleasant night spent in the forest near Winter Park. The views along this route are spectacular when the leaves are changing.
