Released over the summer, the Wilier Adlar is a carbon gravel bike with clearance for 29 x 2.0″ tires and loads of mounting points, and it comes with custom bags from Miss Grape and a set of axle-mounted racks. Find photos, specs, and everything else you need to know here…

The Wilier Adlar is the Italian bike brand’s most bikepacking-centric offering yet. It’s designed around a carbon frame and matching fork, a reinforced frame that can handle an additional 77 pounds (35 kilograms) of gear, and off-road-inspired geometry optimized for short stems. The Adlar has clearance for up to 29 x 2.0″ tires, pairs up nicely with short-travel gravel suspension forks, and has a several useful features such as dynamo routing, dropper post compatibility, top tube and down tube mounts, and triple pack mounts on the fork legs.

Perhaps the most interesting feature is the inclusion of two integrated racks and custom bags made by Miss Grape in Italy. The front and rear racks from Wilier are axle-mounted, which reduces any excess structural stress on the frame, and the accessory package that comes on the “Bikepacking Kit” builds includes four Italy-made bags. After digging into Wilier’s technical documents, it appears the front and rear racks are also available to purchase separately or as spare parts.

The Adlar uses a press-fit bottom bracket, 100mm/142mm thru-axles, and a 27.2mm seatpost. It’s not intended for use with a front derailleur, and while it can pair up with 27.5″ wheels, it’s designed around 29″ wheels across all frame sizes. As far as geometry goes, it has a 70° head tube angle, long reach, reasonably high stack, and 423mm chainstays. At first glance, it looks like it falls into the mountain bike-inspired class of gravel bikes that we’ve seen seeing a lot of lately.
