I was pretty excited this morning to see WOHO BIKE’s latest gadget released to promote Leave No Trace bikepacking ethics. I regularly carry an ultralight titanium trowel into the backcountry, usually in my top tube bag, which often requires a little wrestling and bending to get in and out. The WOHO Shovelfender is different in that it’s designed to be bolted or strapped to the frame, and it doubles as a fender.
WOHO Shovelfender is a multi-purpose, 26 gram, 5052 aluminum alloy trowel that was designed to be an essential-carry piece of gear that can be permanently left on the bike. It functions as trowel, tent stake, or the bike’s front or rear fender. The WOHO Shovelfender can be bolted to any standard pair of bottle bosses on the frame, fork, or a rack. It can also be mounted with the lower strap of your bikepacking frame bag or an included fastener strap. And it can even be attached to the saddle rails.
