As Dwayne and Michele Allgire discovered last winter, there’s a wealth of wildlife and natural places along the 1,150-mile (1,851-kilometer) Segment 8 of the Eastern Divide Trail, aka the Florida Divide. The couple completed the segment and recently put together a video from footage they captured along the way. Dwayne and Michelle finished the route in 16 days. Here’s the breakdown of their itinerary with timestamps where each day can be found in the video above.

- Day 9 (27:43) Christmas to Jackson Lake
- Day 10 (33:42) Jackson Lake to Lake Okeechobee
- Day 11 (41:01) Lake Okeechobee to Clewiston
- Day 12 (44:26) Clewiston to Pink Jeep Campground
- Day 13 (48:53) Pink Jeep Campground to Miccosukee Resort
- Day 14 (53:06) Miccosukee Resort to Key Largo
- Day 15 (57:42) Key Largo to Marathon
- Day 16 (59:59) Marathon to Key West
Segment 8 of the Eastern Divide Trail utilizes the entirety of the Florida Divide route to present riders with an all-encompassing experience of the state’s vast diversity. This 1,150-mile journey starts in Tallahassee and takes riders to Key West using a multitude of dirt roads, forest roads, doubletrack, singletrack, and bike paths. Find the full route guide here.
