Thanks in advance for spreading the word!

Bombtrack Bicycle Co just released this full documentary following their trip along the Tuscany Trail. Watch the film here and find a map of the route, plus a nice photoset from rider Matty Waudby…

In case you missed Franzi’s recent story from this trip, the Tuscany Trail is a group bikepacking ride/race that runs from Massa to Capalbio in central Italy. The event has grown to be one of the biggest bikepacking events in Europe and was the destination for a Bombtrack Bicycle Co team trip in June, 2019.

In July, 2019, a group of two Bombtrack sponsored riders came from all across Europe and converged on the registration point in Massa eager to see familiar faces and meet new ones. Watch the full documentary of their ride below to get a feel for this event, then scroll down to learn more about the route and find a nice gallery of photos from the trip by Matty Waudby (@getwildmatty).

The 2019 Tuscany Trail Route

The bikepacking route ridden during the 2019 Tuscany Trail runs 338 miles (543 kilometers) in and out of central Italy’s coast. The route takes in several UNESCO world heritage sights, ancient Roman buildings, and towns that feel like you’ve jumped at least 1000 years back in time. These amazing centres of culture are surrounded by twisting vineyards, endless olive groves, and rolling hills. Mixed with amazing local cuisine, abundant public water fountains to stay hydrated, and the steady pace of life makes for an ideal bikepacking destination.
