You might recognize Marc Maurer from two very popular films we’ve featured on this site. A Journey Beyond was released by Bombtrack in 2016 and follows Marc’s 5,600 kilometer ride from Istanbul, Turkey through the Caucasus Mountains to Tehran, Iran. The 2018 sequel, A Journey Beyond II captures his 3,500 kilometer tour through Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This spring Marc was set to continue this massive journey with a trip through China, but of course he had to delay the next stage due to the pandemic. In preparation for the trip this past winter, German production company ADLIPS caught up with Marc and made this beautiful video portrait titled Der Junge Muss Von Der Strasse (Get the Boy off the Road).
