Thanks in advance for spreading the word!

Five friends from Restrap in the UK had planned an epic tour in Eastern Europe, but that changed based on Pandemic restrictions. The new destination was northern Scotland. NORTH COAST follows the crew on a tour through Scotland’s harsh conditions and raw beauty, and documents the unique challenges they faced in a country fresh out of lockdown.

Five friends from Restrap, a Leeds-based bike bag company, had planned their annual cycling trip around the sunny coast of Croatia. As was the case for many of us, the pandemic derailed their itinerary. The team quickly pivoted and made last minute plans to go to Scotland to cycle the famous North Coast 500, a legendary road route along the rugged Scottish coastline and into the Highlands. They captured a lot of footage along the way, resulting a film that chronicles the reality of touring in a country fresh out of a pandemic lockdown and the importance of camaraderie in times of relentless weather and harsh conditions. Watch it below, then scroll down for a few photos from the trip and a map of their route…

“There’s something unique about exploring a place that feels like it doesn’t want you to be there.”

The Restrap crew followed a route based on the North Coast 500, a 516-mile scenic route around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle. The North Coast 500 is mostly paved and dubbed “the ultimate road trip around the North of Scotland.” Their route deviated from it a bit, which you can find here:
