Scott Secco’s Raw 100

No drone footage. No music. No shaky GoPro video. No slow-mo. Just 24 frames per second and the pure goodness of multi-day backcountry mountain biking… feel the mountains in this awesome 100 second film from Scott Secco.

Red Bull’s Raw 100 is “a video series designed to highlight the talent and creativity of filmmakers. It’s said that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and this series celebrates that idea. The rules for each video are simple: 100 seconds in length, no slow motion footage, and no music. By having to work within these limitations, filmmakers have to get creative and think outside the box.”

Scott Secco, Director of Builder, took up the challenge by heading out on his first unsupported multi-day trip with one goal in mind: capture a true experience in the mountains. In this short, Scott Secco delivers a video that will make you want to grab a bike and a pack, toss in some necessities, and shred trails for a couple days.

“After much debate we went with the obvious… Take a couple days, head for the hills, sleep under the stars, and capture an experience, rather than just a trail.” — Mike Hopkins

*It’s worth noting that we chose to feature this film for it’s amazing production quality. However, a reader pointed out something we were slow to recognize; there is an instant captured in the film which we don’t endorse—one that goes against the principles of Leave No Trace backcountry ethics—the feeding and socialization of wildlife.
