The Tour Te Waipounamu is a bikepacking race that travels 1,300 kilometers from the northernmost point of New Zealand’s South Island to Slope Point, the most southerly tip. Race founder Brian Alder put together a unique route that travels through backcountry New Zealand, incorporating many private stations that are otherwise inaccessible to the public. It also navigates a mixture of walking trails and historic tracks and paths. South is a film that charts the concept of the race and follows a cross-section of athletes from a variety of disciplines as they take on the inaugural challenge.
The full 1.5-hour feature is available on Vimeo On Demand now, which allows you to rent the film for a 24-hour period or buy a digital copy of your own. Watch the trailer below and then head over to the landing page to learn more.
