The team at Transiberica Ultracycling just finished up the official Transpyrenees 2020 film, which documents the race along the winding 1,000km route from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic coast. Watch the full film here…
The Transpyrenees ultra cycling race is an unsupported, single-stage road cycling race across the Pyrenees Mountains. Riders follow a 1,000-kilometer route from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic coast, climbing some of the most mythical and challenging cols of the Pyrenees, including Pailhères, Tourmalet, Luz Ardiden, and Aubisque, gaining 27,000 metres of elevation in the process. In 2020, there were 31 solo riders and 5 pairs to finish the event. Alina Kilian was perhaps the most notable rider to complete the route, being the only solo female participant and the only female to complete the route. She took 18th place with a finish time of 4 days, 6 hours, 1 minute.
