Introduced as an alloy fatbike way back in 2015, the Rocky Mountain Blizzard has been the company’s flagship “alt” bike for a while now. 2022 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Carbon

The funky red and green 2022 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Carbon features a “Smoothwall Carbon” frame with a 100mm BSA bottom bracket, zero stack tapered headtube, fully guided internal cable routing, dropper post routing for a 30.9mm post, 197mm rear dropouts, and a Rocky Mountain Carbon Fat fork. It also has plenty of mounts, with two three-pack cage mounts on the fork and two within the main triangle, plus a three pack under the top tube for a bolt-on bag or accessory. It also comes equipped with rear rack mounts for winter bikepacking pursuits.

The frame clears up to 27.5 × 4.5″ and 26 × 5.0″ tires and is suspension fork compatible for up to a 100mm fork with 27.5″ wheels or a 120mm fork with 26″ wheels. It was also given the longer/slacker geometry treatment for more fun and games in the snow.

The 2022 Rocky Mountain Blizzard Carbon comes in two build kits: the Blizzard Carbon 30 retails for $2,699 USD ($3,399 CAD) and the Blizzard 50 for $3,299 USD ($4,099 CAD). They both share the same frame and a few components (listed below), but the 50 gets an XT drivetrain, an SLX 12-speed cassette, 4-piston brakes, and a dropper post, whereas the cheaper 30 comes with a rigid post, Deore components, and 2-piston brakes.
