Weekend Snapshot continues with another batch of photos from backyard rides, campouts, and more from our global community of bikepackers. In this Monday’s edition, we catch up with three riders who had completely different riding experiences over the weekend, from wintry Europe to sun-soaked Central America. Miramar, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica

Just wrapped up a four-day journey across Costa Rica’s famously beautiful and immensely biologically diverse Osa Peninsula. Despite the intense daily heat and grueling steep climbs, the experience was beyond rewarding and pleasantly memorable. I was joined by my Tico cousin Ronald and good friend Monica. During our last grand descent, we were treated to a stunning vista where Rio Sierpe meets the Pacific coast shortly before sunset. About 10 kilometers down from there, we reached the “end of the road” and boarded a small boat that took us into Sierpe.

Lost Dutchman State Park, Arizona

Went on my first solo overnighter over the weekend to Lost Dutchman State Park, which is about 30 miles east of Tempe, Arizona. It was my first bikepacking trip in general, actually! I really enjoyed the experience, and I’m looking for many more trips to come.

Hoge Kempen National Park, Belgium

We developed a 140-kilometre route in the Hoge Kempen National Park by combining several existing MTB trails. This overnighter is a heaven made of forest paths and more technical singletracks. After more than a week of recovering from Covid, this short escape into nature was a blast! It gave us new energy for the upcoming week.
